In this watercolour resource section you will find DVDs and book that will aid you with all areas of the watercolour painting process. Our book department is ever expanding with 1000’s of titles on offer. The ‘Books’ section lists all of our titles but we have included it in our Watercolour resource section because many of the books we sell are relevant across all media, for example colour theory books, art historical books, and art theory and philosophy books. If you are looking for a gift for a creative friend or member of the family this is the ideal section to browse in as you are very likely to stumble across something fascinating and relevant! In the ‘Books on Watercolour’ section we list only books relevant to watercolour painting. Again, this section is ever expanding and at the time of writing has nearly 200 titles. They cover many subjects relevant to watercolourists including how to depict light, how to experiment with mark making in watercolour painting, painting approaches, and ways of tackling specific subjects including, figures, landscapes and still lifes as well as abstract painting processes. Another area that is a point of fascination for watercolour painters is Chinese painting and we have a number of books on offer that discuss and teach this popular approach to painting.
In addition to our book titles we also have an extensive range of art demonstration DVDs on offer by Town House Films and APV. Many artists believe that you can only learn how to paint by observing the working methods of other artists, and these DVDs eable you to do this in the comfort of your own home! In our APV section we have a choice of nearly 70 titles by leading artists including Charles Reid, David Curtis, Ken Howard and Ron Ranson all demonstrating their painting processes on location or in their studios. Town House Films offer other titles from successful and exciting artists working today including Shirley Trevena and Anne Blockley – there are nearly 30 titles in this section to choose from.
