Arch Art Manet pastels are relatively firm in the consistency in comparison to other soft pastels available on the market, and are noticeably firmer than Sennelier or Schmincke soft pastels. They are ideal soft pastels for beignners and students; the pastels are wider in diameter than most others so one stick does go a long way. Pigment saturation is not as concentrated than some of the professional ranges, but they are more affordable as a result. They are chalky like all soft pastels, but will not crumble easily and are very easy to control in order to achieve strong lines as well as soft colour blends. They layer easily without falling off the paper or card you are painting or drawing on. The colour range is extensive with 120 colours available individually and 15 sets to choose from.
