The size and shape of the palette is ideal, but the enamelling is thin, cracked and peeling, which seems to follow the views others have expressed. Shame, but only a twelfth of the cost of a brass one.

I think for the price the palette is really good but don't expect miracles. It's really big, good for a studio work but I think it will fit a larger backpack as well. The paint wells don't overlap when closed so the paints don't get contaminated. Be careful though, the enamel is quite thin and the piece I recieved had it cracked in a few places. Jackson's was kind to send a replacement (which was in significantly better condition) in return. Thank you!

I bought this from Korea a few years ago and it's still going strong. It feels kind of flimsy but mine withstood a lot of abuse and never broke down. I had to hammer the corners back into shape a few times after it fell and the enamel is still perfect. No staining whatsoever, the pans are large enough to hold a whole 15ml tube. I wouldn't recommend it for portable sketching kits, but if you have a bulkier plein air box/easel with a working surface or you just dislike the tiny pans (refilled or not) this is great.

A high quality enamelled metal watercolour palette, ideal for the more ambitious plein air work. Little more expensive that the plastic equivalents, and both more robust and proper enamel.
