We have expanded our stock to include all the ranges of Winsor & Newton watercolour brushes.
Cotman brushes
are made from a blend of synthetic fibres of differing thickness to achieve the three most important qualities sought after by the artist. The thicker fibres contribute strength and spring while the thinner fibres improve colour carrying capacity, which have recently been improved by 50%. Together they retain a perfect point, time after time. This range has a large selection of shapes to suit all applications, from mops for large washes, angled brushes for detail, riggers for longer fine lines and fans and filberts. The series 777 has a clear acrylic handle with a beveled end for scraping, that I particularly like.
Artists Water Colour sable brushes
are made of Kolinsky sable hair with birchwood handles (a unique sculptured handle with a matt finish for added comfort while painting) and seamless nickel ferrules all put together by hand to create a truly excellent watercolour brush. These brushes are soft yet have excellent spring and point retention. The range contains the most useful brush shapes for watercolour painting. Winsor has introduced a new shape: the Pointed Round, a round brush with an extra long point, for when extra fine detail with colour carrying capacity is needed.
