Having enjoyed meeting a record breaking 700+ visitors last year as well as unprecedented sales at their popular Silent Auction, the artists at Blackhorse Lane Studios, Walthamstow (NorthEast London) are looking forward to welcoming you to their Open Studios Weekend again this year. September 8th & 9th 2012 12:00-6:00pm, Private View Sept 7th 6:00-9:00pm
Are you an art enthusiast, a collector, or just curious? If so, here is the chance to meet the artists in their working environment. The artists working at BHL have a long history of collective achievement in education, exhibitions and prestigious art prizes. This is a rare opportunity to see their work in progress and speak to them about their motivation, ambition and meaning behind their work.
Blackhorse Lane Studios, with its distinct twin peak roof, has increasingly become an established landmark in Walthamstow’s vibrant art scene. The Open Studios will again form part of the hugely popular and ever expanding E17 Art Trail. The trail itself has received growing critical acclaim in recent years for its inclusiveness, diversity, artistic and social ambition.
Visitors can test their bidding skills at the Silent Auction. A lucky hand could take home an original work of art at pre-market prices. You can bid online from 2nd September 2012, or bid at the event. The Silent Auction closes September 14th at 2pm. Sealed bids can be placed at a minimum of £125, and the highest bid wins.
Children are welcome at the BHL Open Studios. There will be a kid’s arts quiz to help children explore the studios – with great prizes provided by Jackson’s Art Supplies and a drawing wall so the next generation of talent can show off their skills!
