The ‘A Robins Song‘ project is organised by artist Ian ‘Griff’ Griffiths AFC who has gathered many artists together to participate.
As he says:
“My wife Lizzie and I take our daughter Alice, aged 10 yrs, and our son Thomas, aged 9 yrs who has a life limiting condition, to the Little Harbour Children’s Hospice in Cornwall and previously to Little Bridge House in North Devon and benefit from the care and support they offer.
As a full time wildlife artist I know the benefits and pleasure the natural world can bring to all ages and especially children – the song of a Robin or butterflies amongst wildflowers. At Little Harbour there is an abundance of wildlife in the area but not so much in the grounds and near the building, except a family of hares.
My aim is to provide feeding stations for wildlife, nest boxes, a wildlife garden and more to bring the wildlife closer to the children, their families and staff to enrich their time at the hospice.
I have contacted wildlife artists and some select landscape artists to donate originals and prints to sell at exhibitions and an auction. So far I have had donations from 100 artists contributing over 200 pieces of art and this is growing daily.”
