In need of a new sketchpad, Lea Becker who writes the London Diary blog, came by the Jackson’s Art Shop in East London this week. She had her camera with her and as you can see by looking at her blog, she is a great photographer. She was inspired by the look of our space and took loads of lovely photos.
I asked her about her visit and Lea said: “When I entered the shop I was immediately fascinated by the aesthetics of the store and since I was lucky enough to have brought my camera I just had to take some pictures 🙂 I love the contrast of the industrial and raw building itself, the white walls and huge windows in opposition to all those little tubes of colour and delicate details. Besides taking photos I am also interested in other aspects of art like drawing, painting and sketching. I have always been fascinated by the visual appearance of things and after my time abroad I want to study graphic design.”
I asked Lea about the line under the title on her blog: “One Hundred Fifty Seven Days Abroad”. Lea explained: “Visiting London a few years ago aroused my wish to live in this beautiful and inspiring city one day. I fell in love with its diversity straight away. After graduating this summer, I took my chance and I am now living and working in a family as an au pair for six months. Even though my time here is quite occupied with working, I still try to get as inspired as possible. Blogging helps me with that and at the same time I am working on a portfolio for my application to university next year.”
I think she will do well in her design course applications because she has a really good eye and seems like she is always looking!
