Arrange a group retreat in Assynt Art Studios in the far North West.
Look at a map of the UK and take your finger to almost the farthest northwest corner and there you will find Assynt. In a country of beautiful landscape, Assynt stands out as having some of the most spectacular. With some of the oldest geology in the world, its mountains, lochs, and coastline are a magnet for creative writers, artists, photographers, and people with a love of nature and wildlife.
Assynt was recently mentioned on the BBC website as a winner in the landscape category in their survey. The Geological Society of London has named its top 100 geological sites in the UK and Ireland, including 10 “people’s favourites”. “Landscape: Assynt in the Scottish Highlands, where the remarkable Foreland Mountains were shaped by glaciation, …home to the dramatic peak Suilven, won the popular vote in the “landscape” category.”
Imagine spending time free to explore the beauty of Assynt, with access to a studio in which to creatively express the inspiration that this magical place will evoke within you. The Assynt Foundation (a community owned estate of 44,000 acres) has recently opened a purpose built arts studio with the iconic mountain Suilven strikingly in sight. This for the use of the community but also will be available for hire by artists and other creative activities. The studio is large enough for groups of 12-15 artists, depending on the activity.
Accommodation is also available in the nearby Glencanisp lodge on the edge of Loch Druim Suardalain, from here you enjoy the luxury of a Victorian hunting lodge set with some of the wildest countryside in the British Isles. They are currently developing a range of accommodation and use of studio options and these will shortly be on www.glencanisp-lodge.co.uk and if you would like to be receive information when available email your details to email@example.com
