We received so many delightful, spring-inspired entries to our watercolour competition. It was tough to choose just one, but we have made a decision.
Chris Court‘s beautiful depiction of ‘Bluebells on Dartmoor’ is the winner of #HoradamWatercolour as well as a Schmincke Horadam Watercolour Box Set.
A beautiful watercolour!
yes so beautiful!
Thank you, it is good to hear lovely comments.
I hope this reaches Jacksons and they pay attention, I have just tried to view the watercolour page results etc but have the page Hijacked by Pinterest, a third of my screen is taken, I can find no way to remove this advert/invtitation to sign in or register with pinterest.

I didn’t know bluebells were a moorland plant??
Dear Sally,
You must come and see the bluebells on Dartmoor, they are a joy.
Quite good except the scrubbing outt of the patch of bluebells in the foreground. The un relieved patch of blues in the foreground is the wrong colour if you turn the picture upside down to view it you will see the blue receding ,as it does, and the hills coming to the fore. A good dollop of pink breaking up the blue would have helpe
Dear Bert,
Thank you for your comments, I haven’t scrubbed anything out, it is done with splattering using a toothbrush, I will try the pink next time to see if it works. The real focus for the painting is light on hills as the sun breaks through the clouds, always dramatic on Dartmoor.
