Be it a quick gestural sketch in a coffee shop or a complete study of a building, Urban Sketching is loosely defined as drawings which capture a specific atmosphere or moment in time. For our next competition we would like to see your urban sketches within a city environment. The prizes include Pigma Micron Pens & Strathmore Art Journals, all the details can be found below!

Due to the nature of urban sketching being predominantly created within a sketchbook or pad, we have lifted our original specification in terms of the image you can submit and will allow the inclusion of the edges of your sketchbook within the image. We will be accepting artworks that must include pen, but can also include pencil and watercolour washes.
The prizes for this competition will be perfect for those out and about sketches, featuring Sakura Pigma Micron Pens which are known for their lasting, archival properties – Pigma ink is derived from a single pigment to ensure colour consistency, and is fadeproof against sunlight or UV light. The Prize also features Strathmore Art Journals which are great for lots of different media including markers, pens, charcoal and graphite – their lightweight portable format makes them ideal for sketching on the go!
