The versatility of acrylics has made them a pioneer of modern artistic expression. Having only emerged in the last century, their bright colours, immediacy and durability have encouraged works in all forms, from realism to expressionism and everything in between.
For our current competition we’re looking for all things acrylic! We want your paintings that embrace acrylics as a medium and show its incredible versatility. Please scroll down to see our beautiful prizes courtesy of Golden Acrylics!
This competition is now closed.

Hi. Could you confirm that his competition only requires
photographs of our work? Would the original be required at
any point?
Many thanks
Hi Angela! Thanks for your comment – I’ll make that clearer in the blog post. All of our competitions are entirely digital, so you only need to submit photographs of your work.
Thank you
Is it open to entries from around the
globe? I’m from Malaysia 🙂
Yes! All of our competitions are international 🙂
Can it be mixed media? I use Coloured papers with
acrylic over the top for all the detailing?
Hello – yes you can use mixed media. As long as the work is majority acrylic it’s okay.
Are there any restrictions on the number of entries one
may make to this competition?
Hello! Yes there is – you may only enter once per competition. We look forward to seeing your work!
Thank you.
Is there a limit to the number of entries allowed per person?
Yes – 1 per person. Looking forward to seeing your work!
Hi there, is there anywhere we can see all the lovely entries?
I love seeing everyone’s paintings! Thanks so much x
Hello! Yes there is, but only once entry has closed. For the public voting (People’s Choice Award) we set up an online gallery of the shortlisted works so people can vote on them.

In the mean time we post entry highlights on our social media, so you can have a look at some on our Facebook or Twitter!
Thanks very much x
Not sure if I completed my entry. Couldn’t find a red button
as you described in your email-ha!
thanks,
Debra McMullan
Hello Debra!
I’m afraid you haven’t completed your entry yet. If you scroll down to the bottom of your entry form and click ‘Save + Next’ then a red button saying ‘Submit Entry’ will appear.
If you can’t find it send me an email at debbie@jacksonsart.com 🙂
So it must be framed? Much of my work is opdone on
gallery canvas so I don’t need to frame. I do have one
framed right now that I could enter.
No, the work does not need to be framed. You’re welcome to submit either your canvas or your framed piece or any other 2D acrylic work you think fits the theme. If the image you submit includes the frame (so it’s not cropped down to just your painting) we will have to disqualify it as we cannot use it on social media. Hope that clears things up a bit for you!
Are Inktense crayons and pencils acrylic? If
so I can enter!
Hello! I’m afraid they’re not acrylic so you cannot enter your work made with those. If you have anything acrylic you’re welcome to enter though – entry ends at midnight tomorrow!
Am trying to enter the competition along with lots of
other people on facebook but it is saying it is closed?
Please advise…
Hello! I’m afraid the time was set wrong on the website but I’ve changed it back now so you should be able to submit your work until midnight. If you have any problems please email debbie@jacksonsart.co.uk and I will help you out 🙂 sorry!
Is there shortlist going to be announced today?
Yes there is! Sorry it was delayed a little, but it’s live now. You can view it here!
