Albrecht Dürer's first self portrait in 1484 at the tender age of 13 was a silverpoint drawing, with silverpoint as a medium dating back to the late gothic/early Renaissance period. It is a drawing technique which involves a silver rod being dragged across the surface leaving a deposit, with the rod usually being held in a metal holder. A specially developed ground is available to provide the ideal surface for your silverpoint drawing.
