Weighing just 4 kgs, this lightweight easel can be used indoors or easily transported outdoors with the black linen carrying bag that comes with the easel. Artist Review of Jullian Full Black Pine Wood French Easel<\/h2>\n

I have recently completed an online course with a wonderful plein air artist called Jill Steinhuis. She made a list of some essential materials for trying out plein air painting. Her easel is an aluminium one, but this was unaffordable for me so I searched for something similar but within a certain budget.<\/p>\n

Whilst looking for materials I came across Jackson\u2019s website and they had the Jullian Full Black French Easel in pine with a carrying bag. What drew me to this easel is its lightweight design and the removable drawer that doubles as a platform for my large acrylic palette where I mix my paint. <\/p>\n

The drawer also allows me to be hands-free, as I no longer have to hold the palette. The drawer also provides plenty of space for my brushes and palette knives. Although the easel includes a black pine palette for painting, I use it as a drawer separator and to extend the drawer, turning it into a sturdy platform for my acrylic palette.<\/p>\n

The easel’s height is easily adjustable with the legs, and when fully extended, it\u2019s perfect for me since I prefer to stand while painting. With many adjustable parts, it allows me to find the ideal height to suit my painting style and needs. The black colour of the easel also enhances the colours and composition of my paintings, which has been a bonus since I use a lot of colour in my work.<\/p>\n

The Jullian Full Black French Easel<\/a> has been a real asset for my engagement and continued interest in oil painting. I have found the easel light enough to take outside into my garden in order to dabble with a bit of plein air painting. It is easy to open and close, and as I share a working office room at home, I can store it away or put it out accordingly.<\/p>\n

From a young age, I have found a great connection and communication through the visual arts. I experience great joy in looking at art and trying out various materials including using chalk pastels, clay for sculptural art, and more recently, oil painting to record or create something that captivates my imagination or eye.<\/p>\n

So, I am an observer of life and its processes. Through art I feel a great connection to the world and its many facets. I especially enjoy painting or drawing nature. Colour is an essential part of my visual communication.<\/p>\n

At various points I have experienced a \u201cflow\u201d state in my art whereby I am led to paint, draw, or make beyond my conceptual mind. It\u2019s been a wonderful journey into the creative realm of the visual world and I hope to be inspired to create further.<\/p>\n
