Isaro Watercolour Paints are handcrafted in Belgium by Isabel Roelofs, who comes from two generations of paintmakers and is a descendant of well-known Belgian artist, Willem Roelofs.

Isaro watercolours have been carefully crafted so that they have maximum transparency, providing luminosity and excellent layering capabilities. Handmade in an atelier in Belgium, Isaro use only high-quality gum arabic and pigments in their watercolours.

Gum arabic varies in colour from very pale yellow to dark brown, and the gum darkens on contact with the tannin in acacia bark. Isaro have selected the best acacia gum that when dissolved in water gives a clear solution. This maintains the purity and luminosity of the pigments. Glycerine and honey are also used in very precise amounts to enable the paint to remain supple. Isaro use a single-flower honey, the honey of acacia, so that the honey is also very clear.

The range of 60 colours is available in 7ml tubes.

A lovely opaque light earth red. I've been meaning to try Isaro paints for a while, and this has made me eager to try even more of them.

This is a very pale creamy blue, much paler than the on-screen image suggests. The bits of mica make it glitter like snow on a Christmas card. This effect is more noticeable as the paint dries.

This is a lovely light grey only tested on practice paper as the art work is not ready for painting won't be long now.

Lovely deep red I have been looking for a long time.have not used yet but will be very soon. Tested on a practice sheet like what I see.

Color has a warmer and lighter tone in real life; it's a very, very pale baby blue. However, it re-wets easily and works great on black watercolor paper.

A nice colour, though I wouldn't call it 'very beautiful'. Semi opaque, more orange than PR101 indian reds, a good brick red, opaque in masstone, fairly transparent and quite pretty diluted. Similar to a couple of PR206 I have. I liked the way it handled. Will have to try in some limited palette (3-4 paints) comparisons - shows promise at first look, well worth trying as an earthy red.

Moderately interesting pale grey with a slight green tinge, semi opaque, very mild granulation. Thought I might use for a foggy wash but it seems a bit weak for that except over pale colours, will probably mostly stick with titanium buff (PW6:1) for that purpose. Wets and handles nicely, seems well made.

Good quality and because it is a pricey shade, good to get a small tube
