The Turner Acryl Gouache range includes 150 colours, all of which are opaque and which dry quickly to a matte finish. Manufactured in Japan, these paints are coloured with extremely finely-ground pigment and have a fluid consistency which enables an even spread of uniform colour across large areas. They can be used with regular acrylic mediums (such as Golden mediums) and thinned with water. Once dry, they are water-resistant, which means they can be applied in multiple layers without bleeding (working-times can be extended using the Turner Retarder). These paints are highly adhesive, and when they are used over the specially-formulated Turner grounds, they can be used on almost any surface, including rock, metal, glass, paper, canvas and wood.

Turner Acryl Gouache is available in a range of sets which contain 12, 18, 24 or 36 colours. The range is complemented by a series of 69 Japanesque colours, which have a slightly coarse texture. This texture is designed to mimic that of traditional Japanese paints, which are made from crushed mineral pigments, shells, corals and even semi-precious stones (like malachite, azurite and cinnabar) suspended in a hide glue binder.

Instructions for use.

For a uniform finish, please dilute the paint with water to an approximate ration of 2 parts paint to 1 part water.

It is preferable to use metal, disposable or porcelain palettes, as dry paint may adhere persistently to wooden or plastic palettes. Seal palettes with clingfilm if you are planning to leave paint on them between painting sessions. Any kind of brushes may be used, but remember that the paint will dry waterproof within 15 minutes. To stop this clotting your brushes, dip the brush-head in water regularly throughout the painting session; when not in use, brushes should be stood in water. To clean your brushes at the end of a painting session, dip them in water and wash with soap until the paint softens.
