A not expensive but good and useful metal box. If you exceed the number of 12 pans the plastic tray can be taken off and you can stick the pans with a double-sided adhesive tape. It is exactly what I was looking for. (Posted on 2/03/2018)

Get rid of the plastic insert and fit adhesive magnets (first4magnets have a good selection) to the base of your pans. That way the box will hold 28 full pans, if you pack them together, in 4 rows of 7. I have mine in 2 rows of 7 because I like more space between. It also means it is very easy to reorder colours if you want to. I like a lot of colours to choose from, so I have a spare box that I use to store just the colours that I am using on my current painting. My colour charts show me where to put them back when I have finished. I write the names, brand and pigment numbers on the side of the pan in indelible Sharpie pen for easy identification.
