This Empty Metal Watercolour Box will hold 24 half pans or 12 full pans. Create your own custom set of watercolours with a half pans, full pans or a mixture of the two.

The enamelled metal tin has two folding-out side palettes to create extra space for mixing colours.

The image shown to the left here is the inside of the box when it is opened out.

Closed: 9 x 3 x 1 inches.

Q. Can you fit another row of pans in between the two silver parts?

A. This slot between the two rows is actually designed to carry brushes and is not wide enough to hold pans I'm afraid. You could potentially also carry additional 5ml tubes of watercolour in this slot.

Q. Could this hold Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour pans?

A. The Kuretake Gansai pans are extra large at 2.5cm x 4.5cm and will not fit in the Jackson's Empty Watercolour Boxes.

Q. Would this hold White Nights pans?

A. This Empty Watercolour Box will hold the St. Petersburg White Nights pans. The metal rows for slotting in pans can be adjusted.

I got this box for mostly winsor & newton halfpans and they seem to be a little bit too small since they move around inside the case. On the plus side you get to add another two half pans becausethere is still room after 24 half pans. :)That would eliminate the issue with the pans moving around. I got empty half pans from an uninown brand and they click and sets perfectly in the box. (Posted on 20/08/2015)

I already have one of these boxes to hold 5ml tubes, but I wanted one for pans as well, so I ordered this one. It says you can get 12 full pans in there but I have managed to get 14 in; you can fit 7 pans along each side of the box. Box is beautifully made, nice and sturdy and has a good surface for mixing. There's also room for a pencil and/or paint brush in the middle between the pans. Highly recommended for anyone who likes their painting supplies to be portable. (Posted on 20/08/2015)

Very useful. It is compact.and if the tray that hold the pans is removed one can get additional paint mixing area/wells. Since the box has two flaps it helps to cover and store the paints for longer period without getting dried up. (Posted on 20/08/2015)
