This plastic tub contains 118ml (4 fl. oz.) of Daniel Smith Transparent Watercolour Ground. Because it is transparent, it allows the colour and the pattern of the substrate to show through, whether that be white paper, coloured or marbled paper, or wood-grain. This can create interesting effects with transparent or semi-transparent watercolours.

Rating

Not a good product, doesn't apply evenly and behaves like unsized paper, not watercolour paper. On porous base the ground and the base buckle terribly. Watercolour pencils do not work at all on it. Impossible to achieve a flat wash on. (Posted on 2/03/2017)
