The Schmincke Transparent Watercolour Ground allows watercolour painting on grease-free surfaces such as canvas, painting boards, wood as well as on acrylic paintings in which the surface remains visible. The watercolour absorbent ground forms an even, matt, elastic and age resistant film. Can be overpainted (or tinted beforehand) with watercolours, gouache or acrylic colours. Also available in a 500ml bottle

Review
The best watercolor ground that I have tried. Applies reasonable smoothly if care taken. It is really good on non porous bases, on porous bases like card, when painted over the watercolour can sink in a little and cause a bit of buckling. It is hard to achieve a flat wash on, but it can be done, unlike other watercolour grounds on the market.
