Townhouse : DVD : Line Wash Watercolour : John Hoar
John Hoar is a master painter and one of his greatest loves is using line and wash in his watercolour paintings. In this DVD he shows how easy it is to bring your watercolour painting to life by utilising an ink drawing as the basis of the painting. John's favoured tool is a matchstick stuck in a piece of garden cane and with that crude device he shows you how to create charcoal-like drawings that form the bedrock of the picture.
There are four full demonstrations on this DVD filmed in the some of the exquisite Suffolk wool Town and villages including Cavendish and Long Melford.
Artist: John Hoar
Duration: 113 minutes
Format: English, PAL. PAL format can only be viewed on DVD players which accept PAL.

- Review by Nigel Taylor
A box matches, a piece of Bamboo, a bottle of Indian ink and a handful of basic colours seems an unlikely collection to carry around expecting to produce a decent painting. John Hoar however shows us how to create lively, quirky and colourful images from these items easily and he enjoys doing it. His clear precise instructions coupled with good filming angles make this DVD an excellent addition to the library of any beginning or seasoned artist. As a new watercolour painter I find this DVD to be informative and fun...this technique is a great escape from regular styles of painting. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who likes to paint in watercolour. (Posted on 2015-08-20)Rating - Review by Feefo
