The Head 1.0 Plaster Cast is a reproduction of the Asaro Head, designed by American artist John Asaro in 1976. Asaro’s design gained international recognition as a fundamental tool for teaching drawing. It is renowned for its unique construction, featuring two distinct halves of a human face. One side is intricately detailed, while the other is simplified to emphasise essential forms and planes. The Asaro Head is valued for its ability to assist artists in understanding light, shadow and facial structure, making it an invaluable aid for academic and artistic training.
This hollow plaster cast is crafted from high-strength waterproof gypsum. Each cast is white but can be coloured and varnished for additional protection. All casts are manually moulded. The dimensions of this cast are: 18 x 24 x 34cm.
