Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer Rough (formerly known as Supertooth) is a rough tooth, quick-drying clear acrylic primer which bonds strongly to practically any clean, dry surface. This includes all types of papers (300 gsm or heavier recommended) as well as canvas, card, ply, plastic, glass, timber, ceramic, and metal.
Suitable for a wide range of applications including pastels, charcoal, pencils, inks, acrylics, gouache, and even watercolors. Ths clear acrylic primer allows the natural surface or underlying colors to remain visible, whilst providing extra tooth for overlays and can be used for mixed media techniques and experimental art and craft works. It can also be used as an adhesive for collage.

Definitely toothy. Totally transparent when dry. Gives a good unpredictable texture painted on with a decorator's brush which is what i was after.

I have used it a few times before. It gives paper that is not water colour paper a reasonable surface to work on.. Ok on fine canvas too.
