Top of the range Kolinsky Sable brush from Raphael of France. Made to very high specifications this professional brush has a fine point and full body. Seamless nickel-plated brass ferrule and its distinctive orange tip. A brush to treasure.
The hair, which has a golden red fawn appearance, has incomparable vigour, springiness and elasticity. Thanks to it's flag, it is the perfect bristle for precision work and fine details. It is the ideal extra-fine hair for all artists' brushes, but historically it's price has been higher than gold.

Going great and then...
I bought this brush (size 2/0) roughly a month ago and used it a few times to do fine detail work on miniatures. I wash and take care of my brushes very well and after using this for about the fifth time, it inexplicably split, the tip only having any integrity once paint was on the bristles... and even then, after a few times, it could no longer hold its point before splitting into three different points. Absolute rubbish and (ironically) pointless as a fine detail paint brush! I paid £13.90 for this brush and suffice to say for that money - it's an absolute rip-off and quality control at Raphael needs to seriously ship-shape and shoe-shine! I do not recommend this brush, though my sizes 0 and 1 continue to serve me extremely well and are two of my most used brushes.
