Daniel Smith Watercolor Grounds allow you to make almost any surface suitable for watercolor painting, from stone or wood to cloth, ceramic or plastic. This ground will also support collage, pastels, pencils and mixed media work.
This plastic tub contains 118ml (4 fl. oz.) of Daniel Smith Transparent Watercolor Ground. Because it is transparent, it allows the color and the pattern of the substrate to show through, whether that be white paper, colored or marbled paper, or wood-grain. This can create interesting effects with transparent or semi-transparent watercolors.

Does exactly what I wanted, I can now use watercolour on anything and know it will still move and flow as if it were on watercolour paper.

Not a good product, doesn't apply evenly and behaves like unsized paper, not watercolour paper. On porous base the ground and the base buckle terribly. Watercolour pencils do not work at all on it. Impossible to achieve a flat wash on.
