Gamblin FastMatte Alkyd Oil Colors are artists’ oil quality paints with a rapid drying time. The drying time of Gamblin FastMatte oil is dependent on the thickness of the paint layers used, but thin layers will be touch-dry and ready to be painted over in 24-hours.
The consistent drying rate of FastMatte colors means that a painter can return to an artwork with a dry surface the following day. This quality, achieved by the paint’s alkyd resin-based binder, along with the matt finish and the ground-like tooth of the paint, makes FastMatte an ideal choice for under painting.
Please note: do not be alarmed if some of the colors are stiffer in the tube and immediately after they have come out of it. The earth colors can be stiff due to their high calcium carbonate content, however, you can easily work them with a palette knife or brush to loosen them up.
