Gatorfoam Board is a strong, lightweight and waterproof material that makes a perfect support for a variety of art media. Ideal for stretching watercolor paper, coating with your favourite ground for a versatile pastel and watercolor support, or as an easily transportable alternative to heavy canvas panels - great for plein air painting. Gatorfoam Heavy Duty foam board is an extruded polystyrene foam board bonded between two layers of Luxcell wood-fiber veneer, is much stronger than traditional foam boards and can be cut to size at home.

The board is light and good value.

This stuff is great for stretching watercolour paper on. Gummed paper tape comes off easily. The 5 mm thick board is stiff enough to stretch quarter imperial (140lb) on without any sign of bowing etc.
