Good product nicely made. Easy to use and on a very stable platform. Lots of adjustment for different sized frames.

This is a five-star product. The quality you get for the price is fantastic. It is clean, well-built, and comes (mostly) assembled. The center mast comes upside down, so you just slide it off, turn it around, and slide it back in. And the ladder-style height adjustment for the bottom canvas support means no stripped-out dials. I bought an easel for a similar price point back in the US, and it required wood glue and a drill to make it functional, and has been repaired several times since. This easel is much nicer than that one ever was! This really is a great product. HOWEVER. The tray does not move. The tray is bolted to the main mast. This is a problem - I am not tall (5'2" on a good day) and I cannot get the tray up to a comfortable height to paint at while standing, because the mast ends up hitting the ceiling. And my studio isn't in some converted attic or weird work space with low ceilings - it's in a modern bedroom with regular-height ceilings. It is a disappointment, to say the least. At least I wasn't planning on doing anything that I need to stand up for. If I had been aware of this tray issue, I probably would have gone with a different easel. But, I have this one now, so I will have to make due. I might try and see if I can modify it in some way, but I think I'm SOL.

Whilst the product supplied is good it was not well packaged being merely slid into a cardboard box which was battered and torn on delivery with parts of the easel exposed with sleight damage(dents) to the easel. Not sure if the product has been updated since first being listed as contrary to the specifications and one of the Q&A, the easel is not 11Kg as the packaging is labelled with a gross weight of 9Kg and a net of 8Kg. The dimensions differ too, with a base of 60x51cm not 55x50.5cm. On initial setup the easel appears stable with a large mast, probably unsuitable for modern houses. Unlike Ciara my easel required the mast rotating as it was fitted upside down and the mast/frame rear clamp was loose in a plastic bag in the transport box.

Already have a large studio easel which I find awkward to use, so have been wanting to buy a H-Frame for a while. Unfortunately the cost of them is usually off-putting, so when I saw this easel I jumped at the chance to order it because the price is good in comparison to other H-Frames. The quality is superb too – lightweight yet study. I was a bit concerned when I read other reviews, as people have mentioned it comes with no instructions and is very tall. Nonetheless I found it extremely easy to assemble – there’s no real assembly involved, as all it requires is just sliding 2 pieces together and tightening a part. No tools or instructions are needed, so as long as you know what a H-Frame easel looks like or have used one previously – it’s simple. The height is ok for my studio too – which is just a standard room in my house. A fantastic product and I can’t recommend this easel enough.

Unpacked in excitement. Assembled in anticipation. Raised it ready for a canvas - and hit the ceiling! It's too tall for my room - which is not the fault of the product! The product is absolutely fine - but the hole I cut in my ceiling lets in the draught! (Joking really! A joiner friend is making another slidey-bit to hold the canvas!)

The website image and specifications help me to rearrange my studio so that the easel fits in perfectly. It is a very practical design and the timber quality is excellent.

I read the review about someone who said the mast was too tall so I phoned and asked just how high the mast went and the height was well within my studio height. The easel came apparently assembled but as soon as I tried to stand it up I realised it was all wrong. There were no instructions so after considering it for several minutes I realised it was screwed together with the tray and clamp at the wrong ends of the mast and upside down so I had to take it all apart. I couldn't budge the top clamp after removing the black screw which I assumed was holding it in place. It was stuck upside down at the top of the mast or the right way up at the bottom. I rang customer services but they weren't very helpful. Then I tried sliding a palette knife between the clamp and the mast to see what was holding it and found (to my relief) that the metal plate (that the screw pushes down) had simply got stuck to the varnish of the mast. I reassembled it and then realised that if I wanted to stand at it with the tray at a reasonable height (and the bottom of the canvas ditto) the mast too would have to move up and sure enough, hit the ceiling (way before the tray was high enough). So my husband is going to make another clamp for the bottom of the canvas and chop a bit off the mast. If you want an easel to sit down at this is fine but if you want an easel to stand at be aware you may have to adapt it. If it was sold with instructions for assembly, a tool to undo the fiddly bolts on the tray, a slightly shorter mast and a second clamp I would give it 5 stars.
