Jackson's Artist Watercolor is bound with Sudanese Kordorfan gum Arabic and then mixed with honey which adds a lustre to the colors. The result is a consistency that really enhances the painting experience.

Absolutely fantastic product at an amazing price-point. I've tried both the full-pans and the 21-mL tubes of the important basic colours - Ultramarine Deep, Phthalocyanine Blue, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Light, Carmine, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Sienna, as well as "nice extras" Venetian Red, Burnt Umber, Ivory Black and Permanent Sap Green. They're lovely paints and of exceptionally high quality - they are on par with brands like Winsor and Newton and Schmincke, and in all honesty, I was amazed Jackson's sell them at such a low price point! They have lovely flow but it's not excessive like some brands. The granulating colours are really beautiful and the non-granulators aren't too flat to be honest. Given most "own brand" watercolours are horrible, lithopone-laden, chalky, cheap and nasty products, these are a true marvel as they're genuinely a professional quality product. The price point is excellent for individual pans/tubes and for sets and I highly recommend these for beginners, intermediates and professionals alike. If you are starting out, they're great as they're economical but high quality. If you're a pro, they're on-par with any other major brand but cheap enough to keep in your bag as a sketching set and not have to worry about how much you're getting through. The pans last ages and the tubes re-wet really well if you dry them down in pans or work direct from the tube brilliantly.Rating

Absolutely fantastic product at an amazing price-point.
