I needed to replenish my watercolour brush collection I already have some WN series 7, bought some time ago, and was a bit surprised at the price of these now and wasn't convinced the difference in cost is justified so decided to give these Jacksons brushes a try along with some da Vinci Maestro. I wanted brushes that would hold plenty of water, keep their shape and retain a good point for detail work. I also wanted brushes with a substantial handle with bit more of a "belly" as this is more comfortable for a slightly arthritic hand. The information given about these seemed to fit the bill and so far I've been very pleased with how they perform. They have a nice substantial handle and good capacity and feel very nice to use. Time will tell whether they continue to perform so well.

Over the years I've tried many brands of Kolinsky sable, from budget brands up to hand made ones to my own specification. I'd rate these as a good 8 out of 10 and these will be my go to Kolinsky from now on, both for my Washington Green work and also for my hyperrealism which demands a quality brush. They keep their shape and best of all they don't shed hairs.

Very nice. A few stray hairs, but a nice brush

I am new to watercolour and have a selection of brushes but these are my favourite, though not the most expensive!
