This very soft brush retains lots of water and pigment while keeping a fine point. I would only suggest that Jackson's put a plastic bristle shield to increase protection during shipment.

I've been using this brush for a year now. When I first received it I didn't like how limp the bristles were, but as my repertoire of watercolor techniques and skills have grown I have come to appreciate the brushes performance greatly. Even though it's rather limp it holds a wonderful point and a ridiculous amount of water/pigment. I'm glad to have it in my arsenal of brushes, hopefully I'll be adding more soon. My actual star review should be between 4.25 and 4.5, 5 should be reserved for close to perfection as possible.

Received on size 6, one size 8. Just loved them from the first moment. Now I use these routinely with every watercolour before moving to sable for detail. They hold a good amount of water and pigment but always work to a fine point. Excellent value for money!

I ordered one of these because I wanted to try a squirrel mop brush but did not want to spend big money on it. I assumed the quality would be inferior but I have been pleasantly surprised by how good the quality of this brush is. It holds plenty of water and can be used to create large washes, yet it also comes to a fine point for details. I have only used it in a few small sketches, but so far I have not seen any hair shed from it, either. I got a size 8 and will eventually buy a bigger one as well.
