The cutter was initially difficult to move along the groove in the ruler. I used a very fine emery paper to wipe inside the groove to remove any burrs. I then lubricated the groove with silicon grease. Wiped it with a cloth to remove any surplus. Works just fine now. Job done.

Not sure that I have got the hang of this item yet. It's a little tricky. The non slip aspect of the ruler works well. The cutter does not glide as smoothly as I would like. Accurate positioning of the ruler is essential - More practice might improve my opinion of it.
