Love this sketchbook so much. I use this for practice. Khadi paper is really great for beginner like me. The paper is really forgiving and can take quite an abuse. I can paint, lift, paint again, lift and so on and the paper does not ruined. The paints also blend really well with this paper. And I can use it both sides! Totally recommend this for new artist.

I have used the different Khadi Sketchbooks with hardcover for about a year. I love Khadi paper! I have just discovered that I like the feeling of holding and painting in softcover sketchbooks, or in this case "no cover". I hope Jackson’s will keep this lovely sketchbook in stock forever!

A lovely friendly surface to paint on. This size fits into an A4 stiff envelope which I use to carry it around and then to press on while drawing. The great thing about this sketchbook is that it folds right back so is easy to hold. You can use it open flat also. Another thing I found is that if it is part-finished I can cut the binding between the sections, and then have a slimmer sketchbook, and leave my finished drawings at home. The sketchbook still holds together fine. Its' possible to paint on both sides of the paper. Watercolour washes work fine. The surface is OK for pen also, and doesn't clog the nib. The paper is quite absorbent, so the watercolour sinks in and stays there - not a chance to blot it off. This "smooth" book is about what other watercolour papers call "NOT".In other words, it has a texture to the surface. It isn't smooth like botanical papers I love the deckle edges. It's a kind of a "casual" sketchbook: the pages are slightly different sizes, the surface has the odd irregularity, and the paper is soft and welcoming to the media. I'll be re-ordering.
