Khadi Sketchbooks are filled with white rag handmade paper. This paper made from 100% long fibred cotton rag. It is internally sized (with a neutral pH size) and surface tub sized with gelatine.The 210gsm paper is trimmed on two of its exposed sides and the third edge has a beautiful deckle edge. The book is bound in sections with stitching. This allows each section to be opened up and the central page to be painted right across.
A great travelling companion for any artist.

Great quality and low cost.

I don’t know if I love this paper madly or if I am just mad with it. It takes any kind of wash without batting an eyelid, it doesn’t buckle or warp, the colors are bright and glowy... but it does not forgive errors. Forget about using masking, or lifting color, or even erasing too enthusiastically. In the end I am learning to do without masking because the pleasure of laying color on this paper is just too much. This size is on the small size, shorter and stubbier than a Moleskine, but also light and sturdy. The paper is not blindingly white, it’s a sort of off white that is actually quite pleaseant.

I bought the smooth version of this sketchbook on recommendation. From what I was told I thougt this one would be too rough for my liking. I love the smooth sketchbook (instant favorite), but after having used it for a little while I decided to try the rough also, and I'm very happy I did! The paper is perfect for nature sketching and loose watercolours. The paper is rough, but not as rough as I initialy was led to believe. A new favorite!
