Really nice. I love the plain finish on the covers and decked edges. The paper texture is beautiful too although it seems a little dusty on some pages.

My favourite sketchbook, and I've tried quite a few. Gorgeous paper, great for watercolour and ink (I use them for urban sketching), can handle multiple washes and heavy washes as well. I love the texture of the paper, and people often comment on the lovely paper. Hope these will always be available. :) I'm using both the smooth and the rough editions. If you like to work with a lot of different media - ink, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, and watercolour, the smooth one is for you as the smooth texture is a little more all-round. But if you mostly work with watercolour I recommend you get the rough one, as the texture makes the granulating colours sing much more. Regardless, I cannot recommend these sketchbooks enough. Also, 100 % cotton paper with sizing! That's rare for sketchbooks. Finally, I've dragged these sketchbooks around A LOT and the binding has held up to all my abuse. Absolutely recommended.

My favorite watercolour sketchbook! I hope Jackson’s will keep it in stock for ever :-)

I have used the sketchbook twice now and I am getting used to the paper quality. Being 100% cotton it is very absorbent and does not have the same sizing as other regular watercolour papers. Having said that it is a sketch book so as such performs very well and allows you to work your watercolour sketches for lifting and multiple layering of colour.

This is my first time using this sketchbook and I am really enjoying it. They are handmade papers and have a lovely deckle edge along the short side of each page. The paper has a lovely texture to it and is very strong. I have used watercolours and inks in it and done some embossing. I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly a dip pen works on the paper, as I expected it to 'skip' and feel scratchy, but it doesn't at all. There is no bleed through and both sides of the page can be used. There is a slight buckling with multiple washes, but this flattens out once dry and when the book has been closed. The book opens flat, allowing use across its full width with ease. Overall, just a pleasure to use!

Excellent paper, but the cover is a little weighty - although a hard cover is useful I feel it could be ligher weight
