Lawrence’s Rhinds Straw Hat Varnish is a traditional strong shellac-based stopping out varnish. It dries quickly to a tough acid-resistant finish. Appropriate for backing and protecting the edges of plates as it will not be dissolved when reworking white spirit-based grounds and resists on the plate front.

This strong, quick-drying varnish is also ideal for sealing collagraph plates.
