The Masters 3mm Aluminium (ACM) Linen Panel with Claessens 166 Medium Linen is a high quality surface for oil and acrylic painting. It comprises premium universal primed linen mounted on a robust ACM panel.

Each panel is made from 3mm thick aluminium composite material (ACM) which provides a strong, stable support for painting. It is rigid, lightweight and unaffected by temperature or humidity changes making it an ideal, archival-quality support. The panel is a three-layer sandwich panel consisting of two pre-painted aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene (PE) core.

Claessens is well recognised as being one of the highest quality linen canvases available. The 166 is a medium texture linen primed with acrylic.

With over 100 years of experience in crafting the finest quality artist canvases, Claessens is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field. Each Claessens canvas undergoes a rigorous treatment and production process in order to meet different requirements for artists.

First, all raw canvases are sized with synthetic PVA glue. For universal primed canvases, the next step involves applying a coat of acrylic-bound titanium white paint to the canvas by means of a knife. As the primer and coating are water-based, these universal primed canvases are dried in a hot-air oven, where the water can evaporate more quickly.
