Mijello : 18 Well Folding Plastic Palette : Blue

I was planning on using this for keeping gouache paint from drying so quickly. It does not work at all for this purpose. There is a rubber seal around the lid, but the paint still dries completely in one day. Even if I spray the paint with water before I close the lid, it's almost totally hard the next day. So definitely not recommended for gouache, acrylics or similar. For watercolor it would work ok, but it's still not a nice palette. The plastic feels cheap, it's really light and bendy and even worse than ordinary plastic palettes for mixing. Would not buy again.

Great for a plastic palette

This product was perfect for my needs.

For watercolour paint, however I am using it for oils. Saves waste, mess, and easy to clean.

This is the first custom palette I have used and in has totally changed the way I paint. It has made painting with watercolours so nice and easy. I love having all of my favourite colours in one palette. The palette is really light weight and airtight which makes it perfect for traveling with. I personally really the clear removable tray that comes with the palette. It makes cleaning the palette so quick and also gives more surface area for mixing colours.

Great plastic palette. paint does bead a little (but that is a plastic palette problem. I could slot my colour reference under the plastic tray and so I always have a good reference of the colours on paper.

Nice and sturdy most suitable

This palette could be marketed better - hard to find, no 'brand' (mjello?) name on the actual palette. It would sell better if it had a better identity. I think it will be popular - my art teacher put me on to it.

Good quality, watertight palette which is well thought out

This was exactly what I'd been looking for, great!

I had seen one at an Art Group and couldn't find it in the catalogue but there it was on the website.

The design on the whole is good but the retaining clip holding the two halves together when folded could be better. I have glued a thin piece of metal between the clip mechanism and the main body of the palette to improve the catch.

This is an impressive pallet with an airtight lid that stops the pigments drying our.

Great idea, no more messy plastic bags

Stains easily but for practicality, seeing colours as they would be on the canvas and for transport when working plein air then excellent.

Neat, and seems to keep gouache moist for a while. Will be useful for plein air.

This palette appears to be well constructed , water tight and doesn't waste mixing space by including a thumb hole. It will fit inside my tool box and be great for plein air watercolour painting. I'm glad I ordered it. Thank you.

A nice product. Excellent value. Non bulky with a tight closure for a non leaky seal.
