Glassine paper can be used to protect the surface of prints, drawings, paintings and other artworks from spilling, exposure, or rubbing during storage or presentation. It will not damage or smudge pastel, charcoal or graphite. Often used in bookbinding separating (interleaving) pages containing plates or illustrations. Its smooth surface is resistant to grease, air and water, and is pH neutral (acid-free) to ensure archival protection.
Please note: Glassine paper is translucent, not crystal clear.

Wonderful stuff. Because I only intend to use to cover some pastel paintings and to rest my hand I didn't think about how something this big would arrive. But rather than folded- which would have been fine for me- it came flat. This would be important if you needed it for just one piece. I bought some cheap glassine on Amazon and you might think it's all the same but it's not. This stuff is high quality and I recommend it whatever your uses. Plus Jackson's packaging means you will get it in perfect condition.

The only solution to storing unframed pastels is to layer or wrap them in glassine. I am never without some.
