Info
This superb artist grade paper from Saunders Waterford will provide an excellent ground for your finest works. Please note that while Saunders Waterford High White papers are noticeably whiter than the traditional Saunders Waterford paper, they still have a pale cream appearance. This is because it is not currently possible to whiten the paper to a bright white without compromising light-fastness by using Optical Brightening Agents. The whiter shade of Saunders Waterford High White paper is achieved by adding a high white lightfast pigment with good long-life properties, as used in some watercolor paints.
Artists grade watercolor paper is archival which means it will not discolor or fall apart over time and is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart.
Please note, this product has a Not (cold pressed) surface. The surface of the paper is slightly textured, and is not suitable for extremely detailed work. Most painters will find it suitable for most purposes. For more information on the production and properties of watercolor papers, click here.

High White is my favourite by Saunders and getting it in a block form really helps with reducing buckling. I use both watercolour and acrylic paints and inks on this paper and I always love the results. Getting it in cold press also allows for a bit of added texture!

This is the second 100% cotton block i tried out in my life (i'm kinda a newbie) and i like it more than the other i have ( let's call it F.A.) that buckles like crazy. Have to try out the "big A" yet, but so far this one is perfect. Love the high white!

An outstanding paper in a format that's portable and performs as well as if it had been stretched.

a joy to use

When I put this high white paper next to the regular Saunders Waterford watercolor paper, I couldn't see any difference in the paper tone which I had expected. Still this is my favorite paper, it can take very rough handling and the surface is just lovely.

The block is perfect for my 2 hour life painting/drawing sessions in town. It's portable and ready to go. The paper is lovely, though the surface sizing can vary a bit between sheets.

Will definitely buy this again.
