Info
Schmincke have added 15 supergranulating colours to their Horadam watercolour range, grouped into three series: ‘Deep Sea’, ‘Glacier’, and ‘Galaxy’. Each colour contains a combination of granulating pigments which separate and settle into the paper surface for textural watercolour effects.
Contains 1 x 15ml tube of each of the following Glacier colours: Blue, Turquoise, Green, Brown, and Black.
In order to achieve high standards regarding lightfastness, resolubility and stability, Schmincke Horadam watercolours contains only the finest raw materials.
The paints are bound with Kordofan gum arabic from the southern Sahara. Due to the natural source of the binder, the gum arabic does tend to differ slightly year on year. Schmincke continually test the ingredient and the best of the batch is selected to ensure the highest quality is achieved. This means paint which has dried onto your palette can be easily re-wetted and painted with again.

Very disappointed in the Super granulation sets
In this set, 3 colors Do not granulate at all. those are glacier blue, glacier turquois and glacier black. Black has a very large empty space inside, I flattened 1/4 of the tube to get the first drop of paint out of the tube. Blue and Turquois have a lot pigment separation---an oily substance, I assume it is glycol. I used a toothpick to remix the liquid with the pigment, but From my observation, even if the remix is successful, and the paints appear normal, they have lost their granulation ability. This is a very expensive set, and this level of quality is not I'm looking for. I've been shopping other brands for granulating colors. I heard Winsor&Newton and Daniel smith have good granulating colors.

Wonderful colors that take to the paper beautifully. I was lucky to get them before they sold out. They are worth getting, so sign up for a notice when they are restocked.
