Info
This is a mini sample pad of the full sized Stonehenge Aqua Hotpress pad. Stonehenge Aqua Hotpress is a superb paper for botanical illustration since is very smooth while still having a delicate fine texture that is ideal for colored pencil and watercolor layering. This makes vibrant realistic paintings entirely possible. The water permeates the paper slowly allowing for you to produce fine details and subtle gradations without losing any vibrancy or radiance.
Stonehenge Aqua is a high quality, silky watercolor paper that performs excellently with wet-on-wet applications or wet-on-dry applications. It’s crispness and excellent quality enables it to anchor work beautifully no matter what the technique. Lifting and blending are a dream on this paper allowing you the control you need to produce fine, elegant work. It’s absorbency is perfect fo rpreventing bright colors drying to a dull tone. The flat paper dries flat and resists buckling, whether you’re using blocks or sheets. Stonehenge Aqua can be used for watercolor, pen and ink drawings, intaglio printing, calligraphy, pastel painting and silkscreen printing.
Each sheet is made from 100% cotton and is acid and chlorine free with a synthetic sizing, that doesn’t contain any gelatine.
This is a sample pad measures 9.5 x 6.3cm and contains five sheets of Stonehenge Aqua Hotpress paper.

Perfect for trying out the paper before committing to a larger pad. I also like the portability of this little pad, perfect to throw in my bag.

I love the size of this pad, and I love that it has several sheets to try and play with, and the paper seems to behave itself and give lovely results. I made a watercolour on one sheet and used inks on another, and both came out how I wanted. This is ideal to travel with, as its tiny, and you can make a finished piece very quickly. You can also use the paintings as thank you cards.
