Beautiful texture, takes lots of layers of watercolour, but be sensible if you want to tape it with masking tape or using masking fluid on it. It rips the paper easily.

I got myself a postcard size testpackage, did some testing and kinda liked it, so I ordered 3 pads in 2 different sizes (14x20" and 18x24"). When I actually tried to make a painting on this paper, I found it to be very poor quality. Lifting watercolor seems pretty much impossible. The moment you touch it 3 times with any synthetic brush the surface of the paper starts breaking! Also my Maimeri watercolors don't dry near as vibrant as it does on for example Arches CP of Fabriano CP. I wasted nearly 200 pounds on this paper, and it will prob take up shelve space in my studio, untill I finally decide to accept the loss and throw it out. I wont even consider to give it away and frustrate other artists with bad paper.

Stonehenge watercolour paper is less absorbent than the one I was using (Moulin du Roy). This makes it easier to work wet-on-wet and the colours produce a brighter effect. I had the impression that Moulin du Roy made the colours dull, at least in the first washes.

Very pleased with the quality of this watercolour paper and will buy again. The paper takes paint well and it retains its colour and strength. Lovely product.

Perfect for trying out the paper before committing to a larger pad. I also like the portability of this little pad, perfect to throw in my bag.

I love the size of this pad, and I love that it has several sheets to try and play with, and the paper seems to behave itself and give lovely results. I made a watercolour on one sheet and used inks on another, and both came out how I wanted. This is ideal to travel with, as its tiny, and you can make a finished piece very quickly. You can also use the paintings as thank you cards.
