Beautiful, granulating and very reasonably priced

Great affordable option for a primary cyan, or for those who feel normal Phthalo Blue is too strong.

Poor, very weak hue, almost oily and very pale, doesn't mix well. Maybe I have a bad tube but so so different to Daniel Smiths, very disappointed.

Beautiful color and very good paint. It is a lot more orange and bright than M. Graham transparent red oxide.

Such a beautiful color! It is remarkably more golden than M. Graham transparent iron oxide.

Sadly, this one isn't worth it. This is a paint that doesn't reflect the other Turner watercolours because while the color itself is nice, it has so much binder that all you see is a gummy texture..

If I can, I would give this paint six stars. For the price, it's a really good genuine cerulean. It doesn't granulate as much as some brands, but it rewets easily. More than worth the price. For those wanting to try about a true PB36 without the high cost, this brand is the way to go.

I found this paint to be quite gummy and not as strongly pigmented as other artist paints. Nevertheless the brand offer some interesting pigments at more affordable prices so worth a look if you're on a budget.

This is PO73 not PO93 as stated in product descripiton. Looks more like semi-transparent rather than fully transparent. Apart from that, one of the most lightfast Orange pigments, very good pigment load and tinting strenght.

Another lovely paint. Colour intensity & ease of use is brilliant. Wonderful value for money. How these paints can be priced as they are I don't know, but even more difficult to understand is why can't other manufacturers do the same?

So far, these have proved themselves to be excellent quality colours and so inexpensive compared to other artist quality paints. Wonderful colour range too, and they tell you what pigments make up their colours, not every other company does that in their advertising. A DEFINITE WINNER!

It is very rare pigment, so i wanted so much to try this. Unfortunatly it's not intense at all and it has some kinda soapy consistency. Looks like it has too much glue in it. I would appriciate if Turner Company could do something with it.

A nice, clean emerald green. Not as intense or strident as the bluer PG7 so easier to mix; still a bit too unreal to use unadulterated for foliage or landscapes - a touch of earth yellows / browns / reds does the trick. This Turner example is very, very good: colour purity, consistency, handling, transparency. Outstanding value.

Wow, a bright cerulean turquoise. I was a bit surprised to see this PB28 (cobalt blue) as a turquoise but that's not without precedent - closest match I've seen is the M. Graham Cobalt Teal PB28 shown on JB'a excellent site: http://www.janeblundellart.com/turquoise-watercolour-swatches.html It really is a very pretty colour, perfect for caribbean seas, as a dilute wash for blue skies (probably with a hint of ultramarine or normal cobalt blue). Perhaps the best value tube of paint I've ever bought given the price of cobalts, the relative scarcity of this colour and its quality. Very impressed.

I bought this on the spur of the moment, but I'm very glad I did. It seems to be less transparent than I'd usually like, but it's enormously useful as a background for buildings, for sandy beaches, for a wide range of stone and concrete types of buildings. A very useful background wash to which I can add glazes.

Turner Permanent Lemon (PY109). I have not seen this particular pigment - PY109 - offered by any of the other top brands so I was keen to try it out. It is a pigment colour which falls between PY108 and PY110. PY108 is an orangey yellow but is less lightfast than PY109 or PY110. Turner Permanent Yellow Orange PY110 is a lightfast, deep, warm yellow, on the more transparent end of this pigment. The Permanent Lemon PY109 is a lightfast, clear, bright yellow which is set on the warmer end of this pigment spectrum and is a transparent pigment. As a slightly warmer single pigment lemon colour this is a useful addition to a palette.

Turner Dioxazine Violet (PV23) is a dark violet (purple) pigment and is highly saturated. In full strength, it positively explodes onto your watercolour paper. Like other Turner Artists Watercolours, it retains its colour intensity when dry.

Review

Turner Ultramarine Violet (PV15) is a lovely blue violet - displaying a reddish undertone. It is grantulating and with good saturation and the colour retains its intensity when dry. I have compared it to my other Ultramarine Violet of one of the "top rated" brands and I would rate the Turner equally highly.

I have bought a lot of Turner Artists Watercolour paints at this stage from Jacksons. The paint pigments are very concentrated and I love using them. Yes, their high concentration can also make the consistency somewhat thick but this is easily resolved by adding 3 or 4 drops of Ox Gall Liquid to your clean water container - resulting in a smooth, free-flowing paint. As always, Jacksons provide great service and prompt delivery.

Attracted by the price I bought several Turner artist colours - this is the first one I have used. The paint is ok and of quite a thick consistency. I have found it to be difficult to mix and to get a suitable mix I have found I have used a large amount of paint - I therefore am not drawn to buying this again as I suspect its a false economy..... Maybe its just this particular colour.....
