Williamsburg : Oil Paint Neutral Gray Set : 37ml : Set of 4

The Williamsburg Oil Paint Neutral Gray Set allows artists to create full-value grisaille paintings (paintings composed from varying tones of grey) along with the addition of black and white. Colour can then be applied to the grisaille, either full strength or as desaturated colour.

Williamsburg Oils each have an assigned value that can either be maintained when that colour is mixed with the corresponding value of Neutral Grey or shifted to a lighter or darker value. Neutral Greys allow artists to adjust the value and chroma of any colour without altering its hue.

The Neutral Grays in this set range from N2 (darkest) to N8 (lightest). Together they produce balanced value 'steps' for mixing with other colours. Colours in the Williamsburg Neutral Gray Set can be blended with all Williamsburg Artist Oil Colours to achieve differences in colour values.

Originating from the Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn, each oil colour is milled in small batches to bring out the best qualities of the pigment used. Williamsburg Oil Paints have gathered an international presence while preserving the handmade integrity of the paint.
