Dark Drawing Stone produces umber colored marks, not very dark marks. The stone feels quite waxy but does blend with the fingers and erases completely. These irregular stone pieces can be shaped into sticks, pointed, and used to draw on paper.

This product was purchased to investigate the drawing materials of the rennaissance era artists and to contrast and compare with modern commercial produced materials. Initial results reveal that the natural materials compare very favourably - I will be using these to produce drawings for exhibition.
