For use with oil and acrylic paint, the Jakar Varnished Oval Walnut Palette has been designed to sit comfortably on the forearm with a thumbhole, allowing you to grip it with ease. It is really lightweight which is ideal if you are going to be spending a long time in the studio painting.

While primarily designed to be used with your left hand, the balance and weight distribution of the palette will also mean it will sit fairly comfortably in your right hand (for left handed painters) also.

I'm a new customer and recently got a lot of very good quality brushes and oil paints from Jackson's and think this is a very good company! but i did not like this one palette i got, using it for the purpose of oil or acrylic paints it is not good at all, the palette is a rough cut, doesn't even seem to be sanded (or sanded that well) and possibly not oiled enough, it is FAR too porous and the paint just gets in the grooves of the wood, so if you buy this you will be wasting a lot of paint and will be struggling to clean it, not to mention it is so rough and a bit splintery, it will hurt your hands when using it, i think i'll stick with a waxed wooden palette or a plastic one next time!
