So disappointed, despite oiling out the painting first, shaking the bottle well, applying a second coat etc. the resulting surface was patchy with areas of matt and sheen. Definitely won't be buying again (Posted on 28/05/2023)

Went on beautifully - very light sheen - DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH and spread evenly - wait to dry fully - the drying process looked a lot more glossy but after 12 hours is matte! Highly recommend. SHAKE WELL. (Posted on 24/11/2022)

This was a disappointing product for the price. The only instructions were to 'Shake Well' on the label but the first coat dried with varying sheens including gloss, and after 24 hours a second coat didn't cancel out the patchy surface. My only solution is to wait another day and then paint on a layer of acrylic Winsor and Newton Satin UV varnish to create an even layer with which to retouch some marks (with acrylic paint) that the Gamvar varnish made by taking off some of the original thin oil paint. A bit of a nightmare I must say thinking I would get the best for a change...This has taught me to be very wary of obscure alternatives to tried and tested old ways... (Posted on 21/09/2022)
