Hahnemühle Cornwall is a heavy 450gsm watercolour paper that is acid-free, lightfast and extremely age resistant.

The heavy weight provides a very stable board that ensures improved flatness when wet. Cornwall offers good colour flow and high colour intensity. This surface is ideal for wet painting techniques: watercolour, sumi-e, gouache, tempera, and acrylic.

Available as blocks and sheets in various sizes, with a cold pressed or rough finish.

This is the first heavy-weight watercolor block I've been able to find. It's also the first linen textured watercolor paper I've come across. Takes loads of paint, and the texture traps the flow of paint in place, when you want it to, in order to execute precise detail, which is also unusual in watercolor paper. Also, the hard surface allows for incredible color intensity and amazingly easy lift off. I order this paper from the United States because, as far as I know, it's not available in the U.S. This paper is my go-to stock moving forward. (Posted on 07/03/2017)
