Jackson's Onyx is a stiff haired, short handled synthetic brush which has a great spring, holds it shape incredibly well and has a good colour holding capacity. A smooth, versatile brush that glides with paint, it can be used with either heavy body or fluid paint. It is firm yet flexible and has a lovely silky texture when working with it. It is perfect for both precision work and looser styles. Ideal for acrylic painting but can also be used with oils.
Please note that this synthetic brush does not contain any animal products, either in the varnish, bristles, paint or glue.

Nice brushes. Being picky here though, the barcode sticker is really hard to remove and leaves a really sticky residue that took 5 mins of cleaning with Gamsol to get it off. (Posted on 19/01/2023)Rating - Review by Charlotte w
Jackson's Onyx Flat brushes are one of my favourite brushes to paint with. It’s the Short Handle and synthetic hair that I love, it imitates a hog bristle brush but is a lot smoother and the hairs don’t fall out like some standard hog brushes would. I find synthetic hairs are preferable to my style of painting as it lays the paint down smoothly and makes blending of the oil paint a lot easier, which enhances the intensity of my images. This also helps with the short handle on the Onyx brush as it allows for more control when painting in detail.Rating
The durability of the bristles allow the brush to last and keep its shape, providing you look after the brush and clean it regularly.

Excellent brushes. Ive been using these for a while now and they completely outlasted another well respected brand that is twice the price. They keep their shape and have a softness and spring that is somewhere between sable and hog.
