Grade 4 = Extra Hard
Lithographic Crayons are used to draw images onto a lithographic stone. They can also be used alongside tusche (lithographic ink) and can also work well on paper. Lithographic Crayons are made of a combination of grease, wax, soap, soot and shellack. The proportions of these components depend on the hardness of the crayon, shellack will be not be present in the greasier, softer crayons. They are normally available in five different hardnesses, the lower the number, the greasier and softer the crayon.
